DESCRIPTION

The Civil/Highway Senior Technical Manager is responsible for supporting the delivery of complex transportation projects for roadway/highway, site development, drainage and stormwater management systems that meet state and local regulatory requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Establish work plans and staffing for each phase of a project and arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel - Develop/implement project plans/methodologies for complex multi-discipline projects
• Confer with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority
• Direct, coordinate, and supervise activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget
• Coordinate and be responsible for interdisciplinary design requirements, technical accuracy, and delivery of milestone activities
• Prepare project reports for management, client, or others - Develop and maintain client relations to ensure satisfaction
• Confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems
• Coordinate project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies
• Prepare scopes of work, schedules, and cost estimates for proposals - Provide leadership and direction by mentoring and motivating staff PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Master's preferred
  • 20+ years of progressive highway or bridge engineering and project management experience
  • Rhode Island P.E. license required; CT and MA or ability to obtain is desired
  • Design and management experience of RIDOT, CTDOT, MassDOT, Massport and MBTA projects
  • Experience with other New England clientsis a plus
  • Knowledgeable with technical software used in highway and/or bridge design
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to prepare professional, well-written proposals, reports and engineering project documents
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
    COMPENSATION
    
    The approximate compensation range for this position is $145,000 to $200,000. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
